Pictures of the July, 2007 fire west of Fairview



Throughout much of July, 2007, a large wildfire was burning in the mountains and canyon area between the Sanpete Valley, west of Fairview and east of Nephi.  At times, flames could be seen from the location of the cabin above Fairview.

Here are a few pictures taken from the cabin on July 23 and July 24 using a tight zoom lens.

The fire, behind the ridge, throws up a
large pall of smoke.

July 23, 2007 - Nighttime picture of fire west of Fairview
After sunset on July 23, the yellow glow (and flames) from some of the hot spots can be seen.
July 24, 2007 - Fire west of Fairview.  Fire-fighting airplane is visible.
By the afternoon of  July 24, the hot spots had flared up again.  A fire-fighting plane can just be seen to the left of the smoke column, in the upper-middle portion of the picture.
